Interview Charlie Wakefield

I’m Charlie Wakefield, 20 years of age and played for Chesterfield for just about 10 years, coming all the way through the academy, youth team and then into the first team. I can play several positions; Left back, left wing back and also anywhere across midfield, my preferred position is as a number 10 behind the 2 strikers. I got into the academy by just having trials at the time I think I was U11 and then worked all the way through into the youth team. I’d say my youth team coaches at the time in my first year of my scholarship which would be Mark Smith and Dylan Kerr.

It has given me the opportunity to do something that I have dreamt of since I was a kid! The experiences and people that I have met over the years has made me the person that I am today which I am extremely grateful for.
