Interview haji Mnoga

I’m Haji Mnoga, I was born in Portsmouth and grew up in Portsmouth in an area called Somerstown. I’ve been playing football since I was about 3 that’s when I first kicked a ball and loved it always. I got football from my dad and used to play with him and my older brothers. I’ve played for Portsmouth since the development centre around 6/7 so I’ve ultimately been at Portsmouth FC for 11/12 years. I’ve just progressed through the ranks and recently got a lot more recognition in the first team. I would say I’m quite old fashioned because I love a big tackle.

Interview Joshua Askew

I’m a football obsessed 22 year old, players I’ve played with or managers would say I’m the oldest acting 22 year old going. Specific qualities would be being athletic/quick/strong/powerful/stamina but I’d say as the biggest quality is a footballing brain – reading the game and understanding the game. Growing up I looked up at Trevor Sinclair, Darius Vassell, Shaun Wright Phillips they were City’s best players at the time I was a big city fan growing up and still am now.

Interview Lydia Huntley

Hi, my name is Lydia, I am 20 years old and currently in my second year at Exeter University Studying Exercise and Sports Science. I’ve played for Gillingham, Crystal Palace, Kent Schools and I am now at Plymouth playing in the defence. I enjoy being an attacking defender as I love receiving the ball and taking it forwards. However, my favourite part of defending is 1v1s because I love the feeling of winning a challenge. I didn’t really watch football on TV as I preferred to be outside playing football with my brother (even though he put me in goal and once broke my wrist when I was saving his shot)…

Interview Mattie Pollock

My name is mattie pollock I’m 18 years old and I am at Grimsby Town my position is a defender I was born in London and brought up in Middlesbrough. Football is massively important to me it always have from being a kid grew up with everyone in my family massive on it having had my dad play and my older brother currently playing so I was brought up around the game and ever since I was young it’s been my number one priority. I would like to say I’m a little bit old school I like to put my head on things…

Interview Cameron Burgess

Hi Guys Cameron here. I have a few little things I like to do before the game mostly on the prehab side of things I’ve picked up over the years, different stretches etc. And I like to wear the same shoes If we won the week before, don’t know why! Apart from that it’s just the usual preparation. I was living in Australia at the time and through various avenues got the chance to come across to a few teams and train to see if I could get a contract. Loved it straight away at Fulham, just everything about the place and the people involved!

Interview Alex Whitmore

I think I can be classed as an out and out defender first and foremost. I enjoy the heading, blocking and tackling more than anything, but I do like to try and find a pass and bring the front lads in to play as much as I can. I think looking at it objectively my career reads like a slip down the leagues, but I don’t see it that way. I’ve made decisions best for me regarding the clubs I’ve joined and other times things haven’t worked in my favour. I’ve played across 4 leagues in my career and also in the youth systems at 18 and 23s levels so I’m fairly well versed across the board.
