El Diablo hits the third victory and escapes in the World Championship, with Pecco betrayed by the rubber at the start of the 3rd lap. Zarco completes the French double, Espargaro is 4th, Marini 5th
Escape and fury. The escape of Fabio Quartararo, more and more master of the World Cup. The fury of Francesco Bagnaia, who at the first corner of the 3rd lap goes down slow slow slow, betrayed by the rear tire of the Michelin which seems to slide like on ice. The German GP is consumed in a heartbeat, because at that point Quartararo, who as always had staged an impeccable start by immediately taking the lead, has an easy life, given that behind him Johann Zarco, in the end a good 2 °, he manages to resist only in the first half of the race, before realizing that the rear medium tire of his compatriot from Yamaha will not suffer the drop that everyone expected in this heat.
The Michelin of the reigning world champion is working great, it is a disaster, however – and for the Red it is not the first time, to ask Jack Miller for a comment on the last two GPs -, that of Bagnaia, which in fact as soon as finds himself in the land of the escape route begins to get angry in a furious manner. An anger that does not hold back even on his return to the garage, when between some gloves thrown furiously against the panels, he makes it clear how you think: “But have you ever seen a MotoGP rider lose his bike like this? It was from the start of the race that I had no grip ”. In short, for better or for worse the tires continue to make a decisive difference on the fate of the World Championship.
This without detracting from the greatness of Quartararo, who slips his third victory of the season, pairing Enea Bastianini, now only 10th in comeback after a very complicated weekend, and above all he goes on the run in the World Championship. Because Aleix Espargaro remains the first rival in the championship, but with the podium lost to Miller with 3 laps to go for a long one at turn 1, the Spaniard from Aprilia slips to -34 points behind Quartararo. “I’m tired, I haven’t been well all week. We took this risk, but even if we had a degradation higher than expected, in the end everything went well ”the Frenchman rejoices, who regardless of being the only Yamaha in a sea of Ducati and Aprilia, in the end always manages to win.
Behind Espargaro, in general, there is emptiness, because Zarco overtakes Bastianini on the podium at mid-season, but with an already important delay of 61 points, while the Beast slips to fourth place at -72. Bagnaia, on the other hand, is very far away, 91 points from the summit. In a race without history, the bad luck of Maverick Vinales, betrayed by the Aprilia lowering rider while playing for the podium with his teammate, and the excellent 5th place of Luca Marini, who in the final have the better of the other, must be underlined Ducati of Jorge Martin, with Brad Binder 7th ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio and Bastianini 10th behind Miguel Oliveira and ahead of Marco Bezzecchi. And without Marc Marquez, Honda cries: three bikes withdrawn, the only one at the finish line, but out of the points, is his replacement Stefan Bradl, 16th.
