Five appointments for a running weekend with the Women’s Run Brixen, the Villnöss Dolomiten Run, the LadiniaTrail, the Dolomites Ultra Trail and the Brixen Dolomiten Marathon

It has been 12 years since 200 mountain running enthusiasts showed up at the start of the first Brixen Dolomiten Marathon. None of them could have imagined that that race would soon become the heart of the most important weekend dedicated to running in South Tyrol. There are five events scheduled for 1 and 2 July, preceded, among other things, by a mini-race reserved for children.

Women and children first.

But always in a hurry. Children’s Run, a race dedicated to the little ones that runs on 30 meters: the sprintchampion. It will take place in Piazza del Duomo starting at 4pm on Friday 1 July. The goal is not victory but to bring children closer to the joy of sport. The fastest will then be able to participate in the great final of the EuregioSprintChampion in Trento. Also on July 1st the Women’s Run Brixen will be held, the all-pink party celebrating her 10th birthday. The race is spread over a distance of 4.21 km through the historic center of Bressanone, without timing and without starting numbers. It starts from Piazza del Duomo at 8pm.

At 00.01 on Saturday 2 July the competitors of the Dolomites Ultra Trail. The race, to be played strictly in a team of two athletes, measures 84 kilometers with 4,728 meters in altitude and a time limit of 20 hours.

The very classic will start at 7.30 Brixen Dolomiten Marathon, the alpine marathon that will take athletes to the summit of Mount Plose at 2,450 meters above sea level. The time limit to cover the 42.195 kilometers (and over 2,000 meters in altitude) is 8 hours.

The Dolomites LadiniaTrail which goes up the opposite side of the mountain starting from San Martino in Badia. The route is very varied and runs on paved roads, forest and hiking trails and steep single tracks.

Distance of 29 kilometers with an altitude difference of 1852 meters. Finally, for the less trained there is the Villnoss Dolomiten Run. In this case we start from Santa Maddalena di Funes and arrive in Bressanone after 22 kilometers. The route is very fast, with only 385 meters of elevation gain and 1,070 meters of elevation gain downhill. The four hours of the maximum time are really within everyone’s reach. Details, altitudes and GPX tracks of all races can be found on the official website of the event:
