The Dtm championship makes a stop in Italy with the third round of the 2022 season, staged at the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola, with two 55-minute races plus a lap scheduled for Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 June. After the first appointments in Portimao and the Lausitzring, the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters which for the second year is open to the GT3 class category sees 30 super sports cars on the grid: Audi, Bmw, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Amg, Porsche. The South African Sheldon Van Der Linde leads the ranking in a Bmw M4. In Imola, former Formula 1 Timo Glock, at the wheel of another car from the Bavarian manufacturer, and Mirko Bortolotti in a Lamborghini Huracán, fresh from his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, second in the championship, were among the special observers. In Imola a thick starting grid, as many as 30 cars, as had not happened since the 1990s, the golden age of a Dtm based on touring cars that after a strong “cure” of vitamins were transformed into racing beasts.
