The V edition of the OCR European Championshipsthe maximum continental obstacle course competition, organized by the Italian OCR Federation on assignment by the FISO – World Obstacle (Fédération Internationale de Sports d’Obstacles) and by the EOSF (European Obstacle Sports Federation), which saw the participation of about 2 thousand athletes from 33 countries. Also present were Ukrainian, Russian and Belarusian athletes who competed under the ESOF flag in agreement with the International Olympic Committee.
Results of the OCR European Championships 2022
They were Ida Mathilde Steensgaard (Denmark) e Jesse De Heer (Netherlands) to be the first to cross the finish line of the Short Course, on a track of 3km and 20 obstacles, at the cross-country stadium of Lago di Tesero respectively in 21’36 “and 14’40”. The Standard Course tested the obstacle racers on a course of 16 km and over 700 meters in altitude, set up between the municipalities of Tesero and Cavalese and scattered with 50 obstacles. Ida Mathilde Steensgaard also won the long distance in 1h55’27 “against Alisa Petrova in 1h58’52” and Ulrikke Evensen 1h57’54 “.
Second place for Eugenio Bianchi

Two bronzes for Italy came from the Team Race held on a 6 km track with 23 obstacles to overcome in collaborative mode. The team made up of Gian Maria Savani, Loris Pintarelli and Raffaele Depedri (32’16 “) was preceded by Hang On The Netherlands (31’44”) and OCR World (32’12 “). Laura Catti, Federica Toni and Dinahlee Calzolari (46’49 “) had to give way only to Poland Women (44’10”) and German Girls Power (44’55 “). In the adrenaline-pumping 100 mt Race (10 obstacles) the French Houles won the title Dimitri and the Polish Katarzyna Jonaczyk.
An Olympic future?

A second format will instead be tested in the following months in a location yet to be defined. Precisely in this perspective, the OCR European Championships were the first European discipline in which the rules approved by the IOC came into force.
