This Monday, the publication of the new ATP ranking shows, as expected, an upheaval in the Top 3. Daniil Medvedev once again becomes world number one, ahead of Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic.
It was expected, it is now confirmed. This Monday morning, the publication of the new ATP rankings indeed shows a more than significant change in the hierarchy. Indeed, the Russian Daniil Medvedev regains his place as world number one, and is now ahead of the German Alexander Zverev, who has his best career ranking. For his part, the Serbian Novak Djokovic, who lost his points from the 2021 edition of Roland-Garros (2000) won by him, slipped into third position. Therefore, for the very first time since November 10, 2003, no member of the Big 3 is present in the top two places. Already world number one this season, but for only two weeks, Medvedev therefore finds the top of the hierarchy. And this despite his defeat this Sunday in the final at ‘S-Hertogenbosch, against the sensation Tim Van Rijthoven, who gained 99 places to find himself 106th.
Bonzi knows his best ranking
Another change to report in the Top 10, the Norwegian Casper Ruud grabbed a small place to now find himself fifth, just ahead of the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas. Winner of the Stuttgart tournament, Matteo Berrettini remains tenth. As for the French clan, four of its representatives are progressing. Quarter-finalist in Stuttgart, Benjamin Bonzi gained six places to find himself 52nd, his best career ranking. For his part, Arthur Rinderknech wins five and is 55th. Quentin Halys progresses by two positions and is 86th. Finally, Benoît Paire, despite his elimination at the start of Stuttgart, gains a place and is 79th. French number one, Gaël Monfils remains 24th. On the other hand, other Tricolores have lost positions. For some two: Ugo Humbert, now 50th, and Adrian Mannarino, 72nd. For others, only one: Hugo Gaston (67th) and Richard Gasquet (73rd).
