This Monday morning, via his official Twitter account, Frenchman Romain Bardet (DSM) announced his participation in the next Tour de France.

It’s now official! Romain Bardet will take part in the 2022 edition of the Tour de France. This Monday morning, the French, resident of the DSM training, took over his account Twitter official to announce this news, in these terms: “Really delighted to announce that I will be on the Tour de France with Team DSM. I can’t wait to be at the Grand Départ in Copenhagen in a few weeks. » A 2022 edition of the Grande Boucle, the 109th in history, which will take place between Friday 1st and Sunday 24th July. The plans of the Habs have certainly been upset by his last Tour of Italy. If he had great ambitions for this Giro, the main interested party had to give up, during the 13th stage, after falling ill on Friday May 20th.

Bardet was not there on the Tour de France 2021

Before his premature departure from the prestigious cycling race, the Frenchman occupied a very promising fourth place in the general classification, six seconds ahead of a certain Jai Hindley, resident of the Bora-Hansgrohe training, future winner of the event. And his current form certainly allowed him to be able to hope for much better, in his quest for final victory on this Grand Tour. Only a few hours after his abandonment, Bardet declared, in remarks reported by the specialized website Cyclism’actu : “I am really disappointed to leave the race like that, we had all worked very hard and invested a lot to be in the best possible shape. I felt really sick yesterday (note: Thursday May 19) during the stage and it didn’t improve. We tried everything to continue but today (note: Friday, May 20), I had nothing left in me to get through the day. “Romain Bardet will make his comeback in the Tour de France. He had missed the 2021 edition, but had competed in the Giro then the Vuelta, last year.
