A concrete example is the addition of the letter “S”, synonymous with sportiness, to the already exclusive Bentley Continental GT and Gtc, or the GT cars that blend elegance and performance from the English house based in Crewe. The details are those in black that emphasize the dynamic look of the car, the specific 22-inch alloy wheels, the ad hoc solutions for the interiors, and some mechanical solutions designed to enhance driving pleasure. The two versions of Bentley Continental have in common a powerful 4-liter, 550-horsepower V8 engine that winks at fans of the “round” sound that only eight cylinders can give. List prices have not yet been communicated.

The range of Bentley Continental, therefore, is enriched with the new GT S coupé and Gtc S convertible (this sporty version is placed on a lower “step” compared to the Continental Speed, which is equipped with the “monstre” W12 6-liter and 659 engine. horses). On the mechanical side, the two cars share the 4-liter V8 engine capable of developing 550 horsepower and the “exaggerated” torque of 770 Nm. An engine that allows the GT S and Gtc S to sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4 seconds flat. The maximum speed? Not declared, but much higher than 300 km / h. For the benefit of driving pleasure in some respects an end in itself on these Bentley Continental, the exhaust system is equipped with a valve system that amplifies the melody produced by the eight-cylinder engine.

CONSUMPTIONS AND EMISSIONS

The consumption? Bentley Continental in both body versions is “thirsty”: 22.6-23.3 liters of petrol are needed per 100 kilometers, while CO2 emissions are in the order of 275-284 g / km (Wltp data, combined cycle ). Furthermore, thanks to the 48 Volt on-board electrical system, the sports versions of the British GT are equipped with an electronic anti-roll system that optimizes cornering dynamics.

The many details in glossy black color well evident on the outside of Bentley Continental GT and Gtc in the S version emphasize the look inspired by racing on the track and underline the lines and drawings of the bodywork: from the front grille to the air intakes in the lower part of the front , passing through the details in the lower part of the sides, the side skirts, the headlight and window frames, the mirror caps, the lower front and rear profiles. In the same black color with a glossy effect also the specific alloy wheels, which measure 22 inches on request, with a five double “Y” design, which can be ordered – alternatively – with a finish Pale Brodgar Satin. Rims that make the red brake calipers stand out. 21-inch alloy wheels are also available.

If the interiors of a Bentley Continental are traditionally a synthesis of fine materials, craftsmanship, exclusive solutions, even the new GT S and GTC S renew this balance, adding specific details. A few examples? Dinamica-type material – a synthetic microfiber obtained from the recovery of textile fibers – covers the steering wheel, the gear lever, some parts of the seats, “communicating” with the Nappa leather used for the seats, the door panels, the dashboard. The result, even using dedicated colors, is a visual as well as a tactile contrast. Finally, badges and embroideries with the word “S” are on display both on the seats and on the dashboard.
