Conceived for “Fun to Drive” and therefore to offer maximum satisfaction in driving, the Ferrari 296 Gtb is also able to satisfy the eye. The berlinetta with its central V6 engine, flanked by the plug-in hybrid system, in fact won the Car Design Award 2022 in the Production Cars category, dedicated to series production models. A prestigious recognition, yet another, obtained by the Ferrari Style Center directed by Flavio Manzoni, capable of designing lines that are always functional for maximum aerodynamic efficiency, but without any renunciation on a stylistic level.

The winners are selected by a jury of 11 expert journalists, representatives of the most prestigious automotive magazines at international level. The jury awarded the Ferrari 296 GTB the highest award in the Production Cars category with the following motivation: “Creating such a beautiful and organic shape in compliance with all current regulations and at the same time equipping the car with top-level technology and performance is truly impressive. The influence of the legendary 1960s racing sports cars is found in the Ferrari 296 Gtb and the end result is a great contemporary interpretation of a classic design language. “

The Ferrari 296 Gtb, an evolution of the Prancing Horse’s 2-seater rear-engined sports berlinetta, represented a revolution for the Maranello-based manufacturer as it introduced the new plug-in hybrid architecture alongside the new 120 V6 engine. ° coupled to an electric motor, for a total power of 830 Hp. The hybrid berlinetta has redefined the idea of ​​fun behind the wheel to guarantee thrills not only when you are looking for maximum performance, but also in everyday driving. In fact, it is capable of running for 25 km in 100% electric mode up to a speed of 135 km / h. 456 cm long, 195 cm wide and 118 cm high, it is 5 cm shorter than the V8 berlinettas and the wheelbase has also been reduced by 5 cm, up to 260 cm. Compactness gives the car record agility and handling, as well as allowing the stopwatch to be stopped more than 1 second before the F8 Tributo, on the Fiorano circuit.
