At Superfights Tsunami Pharaohs and Peritore chasing the world championships

Rome returns to host top events in the combat sports sector. The Pala Pellicone di Ostia (also known as PalaFijlkam) will be the arena where two kickboxing Iska world championships will take place (scheduled for Friday 17 June) included in the “Superfights Tsunami” card. The plant, which is spread over an area of ​​about 16 thousand square meters, can accommodate up to 1,500 spectators. In the race, for the world title, Mattia Faraoni, fresh from the recent challenge won (before the limit) against the German Vadim Feger and Gloria Peritore (reigning world champion).

The two athletes, both from Rome, will play a match valid for the Iska World Championship (International Sport Kickboxing Association) in their respective weight categories (up to 88.4 kg for Pharaohs, up to 52 kg for Peritore). The first will be opposed to the Australian Charles Joyner, an athlete of over 2 meters, reigning Intercontinental champion (indicated by the World Federation as n.1 in the ranking). The second is the athlete to beat. Fresh from a victory at the end of March, in which she defended the world title in Milan, now in Rome, her adopted city (the kickboxer was born in Licata), she will be able to defend the title against the Spanish champion Mireia Garcia.


A spectacular weigh-in ceremony is scheduled for Thursday 16 June, with the Colosseum “background” as the setting for the international event. SuperFights Tsunami will start on Friday 17 June at 6 pm with the lead card, and then continue at 8 pm with the main. It sees all the best athletes, already winners of the previous edition of “Superfights”, combined with Australian, English, Spanish and French champions. In total 11 meetings, both of Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts. The “SuperFights Tsunami” project was born from an idea of ​​the promoter Carlo Di Blasi (president of Fight1). The Capitoline event includes the presence of national profile partners: Tsunami Nutrition (title sponsor), Ecological Districts (presenting sponsor), K24 Alarm (gold sponsor), Radio Roma (official radio) and Leone Sport (technical sponsor). Nielsen Sports (research and strategic consulting agency), considers them one of the 10 sporting trends of the future. Kickboxing, at the heart of the “SuperFights Tsunami” card, is very popular in Europe (10 million fans are estimated in Italy alone) and especially in Asia.
