The match of the week: BDS Academy – Karmine Corp
The reunion between Adam “Adam” Maanane, a newcomer to the BDS Academy, and Karmine Corp, with whom he launched his career, promised fireworks. It took place, since this match was one of the most hung of this beginning of the season. Faced with the MVP of the spring, Lucas “Cabochard” Simon-Meslet, hell had been promised to the young Frenchman: he nevertheless came out of it admirably and even placed his team in an armchair to win.
But the BDS let the game drag on and even ended up losing it, on a succession of poorly managed team fights, punished by a very leggy Martin “Rekkles” Larsson. Although encouraging, the defeat is hard to swallow for the Swiss, who are currently posting a negative balance (1-3), far from what they are posting in the game. For the KC, on the other hand, all is well: surfing on her success at the European Masters, she completed a perfect week, after her victory against GO, and moved closer to the top of the standings (3-1).
Team of the week: LDLC OL
The reigning French champions are attacking the summer segment with all their might. Undefeated in their first two games, LDLC OL did it again in this second week, taking advantage of a favorable schedule. In their first meeting, against Mirage Elyandra, the Lyonnais methodically rolled out to win easily, with a fine performance from Thomas “Exakick” Foucou. This Thursday, they completely obliterated Solary, another team at the bottom of the table, in 26 minutes, to keep the lead in the general classification (4-0).
Player of the Week: Dimitri “Diplex” Ponomarev
For now, Vitality Bee has still not lost a single LFL game. Perfect debut which owes a lot to the great form of Dimitri “Diplex” Ponomarev, again imperial this week. Facing Misfits Premier on Wednesday, the young German was impeccable. The next day, even if he conceded his first deaths of the season, his Veigar was the keystone of his success against Oplon, in a match more hung than expected. Logically, the Bees occupy at the end of this second week the top of the standings (4-0), shared with LDLC.
Nice surprises at the start of the season, Team GO (3-1) and GameWard (3-1) admittedly conceded their first setbacks, but again proved that they should be counted on. Their direct confrontation, won by the first named after 48 intense minutes, was particularly spectacular. Further down the rankings, two teams are still running behind their first victory: Team Oplon (0-4) and, above all, Solary (0-4). Play-off contenders, the Tourangeaux are struggling at the start of the season and the severity of their two defeats this week does not bode well for the future.
