Three days for those who want try e-bikes and get closer to the world of cyclingwith all the physical and health benefits it can bring, but also to (re) discover the beauties of the Bergamo area, riding your bicycle. From tomorrow, Friday 10 June, to Sunday 12, Bergamo will host again BikeUP, the interesting international festival designed for electric bicycles and for those who want to experience all the benefits of cycle tourism without the fatigue and intense physical effort required by a traditional bike. The fair, now in its eighth edition, awaits the presence of 30 thousand peoplewho will be able to visit the stand of around 115 brands in the sectorwith many new features on the e-bike market.
The BikeUP 2022 program
The public, with free access, will be able to participate in the various events in Piazza Cavalieri in Vittorio Veneto and on the Sentierone, around the central area of lower Bergamo. The detailed program includes, over the three days of the event, areas dedicated to children and teenagers, many bicycle shows, bike tests, meetings and debates on various topics related to the world of cycling and cycle tourism, including new bike talks and tech pills with ambassadors, athletes and travelers. All members aged 21 or over will also have the opportunity to try the e-bikes on display. Furthermore, this year, for the entire duration of BikeUP, the “Nextale Experience” will be available, that is a free one-hour trial with a Nextale e-bike, accompanied by a specialized guide.
In addition to the fixed stands and the chance to try out electric bicycles, some will be held during BikeUP excursions to get to know the Bergamo area better. Accompanied by the Visit Bergamo guides, the participants will be able to ride on bicycle touring routes, among historical-artistic beauties and tasting in stages of wines and zero kilometer products. There are many valid choices: the tour of the lands of the bishopric or that of Val Brembana on Saturday, that of Monte Canto and the Clusone plateau on Sunday. From the Bike-Up Sentierone area, in the center of lower Bergamo, it will be possible to take part in a tour of Bergamo and its surroundings, from Friday afternoon for the entire duration of the event. The cost of this last tour, also suitable for less experienced cyclists, is 33 euros, excluding e-bike rental. A series of intriguing ideas for a weekend, or even just a day, in the open air and in the name of self-discovery, even before the opportunities of the world of cycle tourism and electric mobility.
