Time for celebrations in Ancona. The company from the Marche region that plays in Lega Pro today, yesterday (7 June), celebrated at the Del Conero stadium the thirtieth anniversary of the first historic promotion to Serie A won on 7 June 1992 at the Dall’Ara in Bologna (1-1 with goals from Türkyılmaz for the Bolognese and Ermini for the red and white). An afternoon, organized by the current management, opened by an exhibition that saw the protagonists of that ride on the field on one side (together with some players from Ancona today) and on the other a representation of the supporters. Leading the old glories, of course, was the then coach Vincenzo Guerini. At the end of the ride, films of the time were broadcast, some of these unpublished, which preceded the traditional fireworks.

On the occasion, the definitive completion of the change of name of today’s company was also announced. After last season, in which the club from the Marches joined the Lega Pro with the name Ancona Matelica, from 1 July it will become Us Ancona in effect. The announcement was made by the honorary president Mauro Canil and by the general secretary of the Lega Pro Emanuele Paolucci present at the Del Conero to take the place of the president of Lega Pro Francesco Ghirelli. The new patron of the Marche region Tony Tiong, who has held 95% of the majority stake in the company since last April, was present on a video link from Hong Kong.
