Interview

Sorba, introduce yourself…

I’m Sorba Thomas and play as winger by Boreham Wood FC.

What sort of attacker are you ? Are you quick? Tall? A good passer? A goalscorer?

I am know in Boreham Wood as the entertainer. I am a quick skilful winger who thrives of setting up my team mates and being the difference on the pitch.

Why did you start playing football? And were you immediately a forward ?

Growing up watching Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho just made me love football wanted to be like them play like them etc and back in the days I was always a striker growing up but once I came to Boreham Wood they started playing me as a winger and now the rest is history.

Who are the most important people within football environment?

The most important person in football I think is yourself and what I mean by that is only listen and learn from your last play your last game that’s how you become a better player.

Sorba, could you tell us about your experience at youth football?

I believe youth football when I was playing was fun but at the same time I believe you don’t learn anything from it like my advice to youngsters out there would be to play first team football ASAP cause it’s all nice to watch but once you’re in a first team environment mentally you will become stronger and physically.

What can you remember about your first team debut with Boreham Wood FC?

My debut was one to remember no for scoring or anything like that but it was a cold rainy day in Maidenhead slighted pitch horrible conditions but never forget it like fans the atmosphere was crazy and humid tbh.

You have played more than 65 matches for Boreham Wood. What is the best thing about playing for Boreham ?

I would say the best thing about playing for Boreham Wood would be the fans there’s not much of them but I honestly believe they represent us a lot of heart and fight when they turn up they are the best fans in the league and also the fact I was there from youth makes it even more special.

What were your highs and lows during your football career? And why ?

I would say I have been involved in 2 play offs and 1 relegation battle and highs would be playing at Wembley at 18 was a moment I will never forget.

What are your targets for this season? And why ?

My targets for next season is both double figures goals and assist and to be in team of the season.
