Josh Introduce yourself. And what type of centre forward are you ?

Hi I’m Josh Elms, I’m a strong centre forward who scores mostly in and around the box. I will always have a battle with the centre backs I look to press from the front and regain possession for the team high up the pitch. I look to link up with my teammates in and around the box to create goals for myself and others I’m strong in the air picking up a few headed goals this year.

Why did you start playing football? And were you immediately a forward ?

I started playing football as soon as I could I was always out in the garden kicking the ball around. I started off as a winger then as I grew taller and scored lots of goals from out wide I was moved up top.

Who was the player, or players, you looked up to most, and why?

I’ve always admired Ronaldo I used to sit watching Match Of The Day and rewinding everything thing Ronaldo did. I rate Ronaldo the most because of his work ethic and his footwork and of course his goals he’s scored  are just unbelievable.

How did you get into the youth of Eastleigh FC ? And who helped you the most?

I played at Hungerford town last season and was given the opportunity to play in the FA Cup at just 16 it was a good moment for me and the gaffe continued to have trust in me and gave me a couple more appearances in other cups and had me on the bench a couple times in the National League South. I trained every week with the first team and fully believe it’s definitely helped me on my path. At the end of 2018/19 season I got in contact with Eastleigh and felt it was the right decision to go push on for my ultimate goal. I’ve continued my goalscoring form this year with Eastleigh and was given 10 minutes in the Hampshire senior cup with first team, also training with the first team here and there I’m looking to build on this in the new season coming.

What is the best thing about playing for Eastleigh FC ?

I’d say the best thing about playing for Eastleigh would be that if you are in good form it doesn’t go unnoticed.

How do you balance your football and your day job/school ?

In the academy the day is scheduled to involve both football and academics.

Josh, what is your proudest moment of your career so far?

The proudest moment in my career so far would probably be making my first team appearance with all my family there.

Who is your best friend in the Eastleigh FC squad?

My best mate at the club is Tommy we’ve both played for the same clubs for the past three years, a top lad.

What is your ultimate dream for your football career ?

My ultimate goal in football is to have football as my full time job and play at the highest level as I possibly can. It’s always been my dream and it’s a dream I’m not giving up on yet.
