Introduce yourself…

I am 34 years old, gas fitter and play for Leamington FC part time.

Why did you start playing football? And were you immediately a midfielder?

Not a particular reason just enjoyed kicking a ball round when was little an stuck to it I Suppose. Actually no never started as midfielder was more of a striker when younger, scored a lot of goals growing up & that was when Wolverhampton Wanderers contacted me where I enjoyed 7 years at the club.

How do you prepare for an (important) competition? (music, rituals, etc.)

Don’t really have an rituals before any game, just try and keep me self relaxed/focused and to enjoy the game.

Callum, you started your football career by Alvechurch FC. How did you experienced the youth competitions?

I had a great 5 years at Alvechurch FC, went straight into open age it was the midland alliance back then it was good standard & it toughened you up as a player physical & mentally playing against a lot older players… so I’ve never played any youth football.

In Augustus 2010, you moved to Kidderminster Harriers FC. Was there a lot of difference between these clubs?

Personally it was a great move for me, jumping up 3 leagues & into full time football so I must have been doing well at the time & it was a big opportunity for me to impress and take my chance which looking back at the 5 years playing there I think I did, scoring 3 in FA Cup run to the 4th round to Sunderland, finishing 2nd in league (should of won). It was probably the time where I played my best football, as full-time helps massively.

After your time by Kidderminster Harriers FC you moved to Solihull Moors FC. Why did you leave Kidderminster after five years ?

I loved my time at Kidderminster but personally it was right time to move on… Solihull was a new experience and I knew a lot of good players who were joining & I wanted the challenge & in the end we won the league.

You have played at several football clubs. At which club did you learned the most?

It’s hard to say because each club is different and have different surroundings so you have to adapt.

Callum, what were your highs and lows during your football career?

Not had many lows if honest… I’ve been lucky enough to play for teams who have always been challenging for leagues or near the playoffs, which has always been good. As above, playing & scoring in the FA Cup always a boys dream growing up, winning the Play-Offs with Leamington.. I think it’s the best way to go up as it’s knock out football & the way we did it was unbelievable.

Since July 2017 you played for Leamington FC. Why did you chose for Leamington?

It’s a great club to be associated with. The main reason was the manager Paul Holleran he’s someone who you want as a gaffer, he gets the best out of you & is also great away from the football side of things.

What are your targets for the rest of this season?

Hopefully finish strong & try and finish above where we finished last year….
