I’m josh I’m 19 year old CB from Sunderland signed for York in August at the start of the season.
How important is football for you? Explain your answer.
Football is important to me as it’s mainly the one thing I’m good at. Idk what I’d be doing if I wasn’t playing football.
What are your specific qualities as a defender?
My qualities are my height, awareness, pace.
Who are the most important people within football environment?
There are many important people in the football environment from your team mates to your manager to the other staff.
How do you prepare for an (important) competition? (music, rituals, etc.) And why ?
I always sit in the same seat in the changing room when we are at home, I chill for a bit and when it gets closer to the warm up I start getting ready for the game.
You started your career at Chester-le-Street Town and the Carlisle United Park View Academy. How did you experience these moments ? Explain your answer.
My experience at Carlisle helped me a lot as I had a few training sessions with their first team and because of Carlisle it’s how I ended up at York this year. I also played for Chester-Le-Street last season which was a good test as I’m still young playing in the men’s game it got me ready for the toughness for this season.
You signed for York City FC in August after featuring as a trialist throughout pre-season. How important was that moment for you ?
It was massive for me my first game for York was against Leeds with a full stadium it was a dream for me and it’s the reason why I probably signed.
What is the craziest thing you’ve ever experienced in a match?
I haven’t really experienced anything crazy in a match before, but the support from the fans at games is unbelievable week in week out they are there supporting us.
What is the most important football lesson you have learned and who taught you that?
I’ve learnt a lot of information from many different people that has helped me get to where I am today so I can’t pick out just one.
Josh, what are your personal goals for the rest of this season?
My goals for the season are to get as much game time as possible hopefully extend my contract at the end of the season and help the team win promotion.
