Interview
Introduce yourself…
Hi Craig Robson 28 years old current team Havant and Waterlooville.
What makes you a good football player? And what are your strongest qualities as a midfielder?
Attitude, personality, will to win and I do my job.
You started your career in the youth of your current club Havant & Waterlooville FC. How did you get into that scholarship ?
It wasn’t a scholarship I did a college course which was linked to Havant and Waterlooville.
After your period by Havant & Waterlooville FC, you moved Australia to play for Sorrento FC. Why did you moved to Australia ?
I went to Australia to travel and have a good life just happened playing for a Sorrento for some extra dollar.
You played two years for Sorrento FC, did you noticed a lot of difference between the football in England and Australia ?
Yeah there’s a difference in speed of the game and quality. In Australia the weather is lot warmer so the game is a lot slower playing 35 degrees heat. Plus in England it’s much more competitive.
After three years you moved back to England and signs a contract with Bognor Regis Town FC. How was your time by Bognor Regis Town FC ?
After three years I come home. I wasn’t going to play football again tbh the only reason is good pal of mine told me come play for Bognor at first I said no I couldn’t be bothered all the travelling. But he kept on and on at me saying probably haven’t got it any more. So I agree to go training and the rest is history. I enjoyed every minute there. It’s a brilliant club that wants to play the right way. Which have great fans.
In total you have played for six difference football clubs. At which club did you learned the most?
I learned a lot from every club I’ve been at the good things and bad. Never get to old to learn something new. Out of them all I have to say Dagenham.
What is the craziest thing you’ve ever experienced in a match?
I have experienced a few crazy things but the one that stands out the most has to. Havant and Waterlooville‘s in 2009 guy ran onto the football pitch with a borat costume in which the stewards couldn’t catch him so a player from the opposite team ruby tackled him to the ground in which the referee sent that guy off. It’s on YouTube!
Craig, what were your highs and lows during your football career?
Highs has to be singing my first professional contract betting Sheffield United in third round of FA cup. Lows has to be losing the league on goal difference and losing the playoffs lost in three playoffs worst felling I’ve had in football.
What are your personal goals this season ?
To win the league. Because you don’t get a lot of opportunities in football to win something and I’ve missed out on to many opportunities.
