Interview
Introduce yourself…
I’m Chris, goalkeeper at Concord Rangers, from Colchester, Essex!
Why did you start playing football? And were you immediately a goalkeeper?
Loved it from the age of 5, jumped straight between the sticks near enough, was terrible outfield too🤣.
Chris, you started your football career by Northwood FC. How did you experienced the youth competitions?
That was where I started my senior football career & was at Gillingham as a scholar there, which I loved!
In September 2015, you moved from Northwood FC to Braintree Town FC. And you stay there for one season. How was your time there ?
Good & frustrating, it was good to be in a first team environment but very frustrating not to be playing!
By Merstham FC, you was loaned out to East Grinstead Town FC and Maldon & Tiptree FC. How did you experience these periods?
I loved it, my first experience of continuous games at men’s football, where I felt I could learn different aspects of the game that weren’t the same as u23’s
After you was loaned out, you moved to Heybridge Swifts FC. Why did you leave Merstham FC?
I left Merstham due to not getting regular game time!
Since July 2019 you played for Concord Rangers FC. Why did you chose for Concord ?
A club, 2 leagues higher, & not far off the football league, whilst playing week in & week out.. was a no brainer for me.
You’ve played for a lot of football clubs. At which club do you have learned the most so far?
By Concord Rangers!
What is the craziest thing you’ve ever experienced in a match?
Winning the play off final with Heybridge swifts, saving 3 penalties was an unbelievable experience.. something I’ll never forget.
What is your dream for your football career ?
To play regularly in the football league- it’s always been my dream.
